I am hard on that transmission and it keeps on keeping on without fail. On the advice of Darrin Burch, who builds many racing Ford transmissions, I went with 100% synthetic Mobil 1 in my 4R75E. It was never designed to handle those kind of higher loads on the bands while shifting, especially 3-4.
and gave the transmission a very bad name. Unfortunately far too many in the diesel and Lightning world instead went in the opposite direction and disabled torque management. The 4R100 has generally no issues so long as power upgrades take into consideration proper torque management by the PCM. The truck has 155k right now and coming from utility truck series, I hope it had stronger parts from factory, but any easy upgrades I should consider?
What I can look for while being under? What fluid is the best? In the past I used synthetic Valvoline, but that stuff seem to vanish from the shelves. Took 20 quarts and the stuff coming from cooler hose was still milky, but that was all I had and had to stop at the point -assuming the remining water will evaporate at higher temperatures.

I know how to flush ATF as previously I bought 2000 F250 running on mixture of coolant and ATF. Just changed motor oil to T6, putting Fumoto valve and transmision is next. So house is on the market and I hope it will not take long to find a buyer, so now I have some room to breathe and prepare Ford for transcontinental vacation.
